I’m at Blogalicious! I’m very excited to be here! This is #Blogalicious9 and my first time attending. I’ve been posting everything on my Instastories. So if you’re not following me there now is the time! I’ve done a tour of the hotel and the Blogalicious hall. I’m working with the good people of Blogalicioius so I’ll be a little of everywhere. During my recent visit to New York for theCurvycon and New York Fashion Week I connecting with the Macy’s plus size team. So you’ll be seeing some products from the Macy’s plus section on the blog.

The first Macy’s item I’m sporting is this super cute Levi’s Plus Size Graphic Logo T-Shirt . Macy’s carries a large selection of Levi’s items in plus size. There are Levi’s tops, jackets, shorts, and of course jeans. I know many don’t know that Levi’s even has plus sizes. So it’s great that Macy’s offers so much to choose from.

As far as Day 1 of Blogalicious. It was pretty chill for me. I spent the morning taking pictures in and of the hotel. I helped out at two sections. The rest of my time was spent catching up with other bloggers I know from online or with my roommate Ashley.

Oh just hanging with Kim Cole!!!! – She nicknamed me sparkly pants, lol.

I’m happy I had a day to get myself together before jumping right into all the events. There is so much going on. I wanted to be everywhere at once so I didn’t miss anything. I’m having a great time! Rihanna’s powerhouse brand Fenty Beauty has been seen every where. I was in New York when the brand launched. I was at the Time Square Sephora where RiRi took over the corner of 1500 Broadway. There were so many people out; I ended up going back to my hotel. I know crazy right. By the time I was able to get into my local Sephora all the darker tones foundation were sold out. I was able to get my hands on two of the line’s products. The much talked about Trophy Wife and Ginger Binge/ Moscow Mule.

The total Fenty Beauty line currently consists of 91 products that are 100% cruelty-free designed for all skin types and tones, including 40 different shades of ‘Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation’. The collection also features 30 ‘Match Stix Skinsticks’ for contouring, correcting, concealing and highlighting, six ‘Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters’ for face and eyes, an ‘Invisimatte Blotting Powder and Paper’ and a ‘Gloss Bomb’ lip gloss.

The complexion-focused range was inspired by the star’s own approach to beauty, called ‘The Fenty Face.’ “The Fenty Face was created for women of all skin tones, of all personalities,” said Rihanna in a statement. “These steps are key to starting your makeup, no matter the look you’re going for. This is where the fun begins.”

Info on the two Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters: They are weightless and long-wearing cream-powder hybrid highlighters. Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter are loaded with superfine shimmer for an ultra-smooth, creamy texture.

It’s only been 14 days since the official launch and RiRi already has a new collection coming from Fenty Beauty brand. Rihanna announced the Holiday capsule, being called the Galaxy Collection, on Instagram.

The whole palette comes with metallic blues, pinks, gold, silver, and purples. There also a new selection of lipsticks and eyeliners that comes in a fab iridescent packaging.

The launch of Fenty Beauty has been a huge success and I don’t see this holiday being any different.

The Galaxy Collection will be available at Sephora stores, Sephora.com and the Fenty Beauty’s website Friday, October 13th.

My recent visit to New York for New York Fashion Week included attending theCurvycon. I had the time of my life. My favorite part of theCurvycon had to be the Keynote with Chrissy Metz. If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know who she is well here’s a quick run down.

Chrissy Metz is an actress best known for her role in the NBC show “This Is Us” were she plays Kate Pearson. The “This Is Us” series follows siblings Kate, Kevin and Randall as their lives intertwine as adults. Kate and Kevin were originally part of a triplet pregnancy. Born six weeks early; their biological brother was stillborn. Their parents, Jack and Rebecca, having expected to bring home three babies, decide to adopt another newborn: Randall, a black child born the same day and brought to the same hospital after his biological father abandoned him at a fire station. The episodes weave through the stories of the past and present of the characters, taking place in 1980, 1989–1995, and the present day. This moving drama has tugged at everyone’s heart strings and made Chrissy a household name. Before taking over evening TV Chrissy had smaller roles on My Name Is Earl as Chunk, and American Horror Story: Freak Show as Barbara/Ima Wiggles.

I agree with Chrissy. If the Kardashians do it; why can’t I?! I have been a huge fan of this sexy look latex/rubber look dress. The latex dress idea isn’t new. However, modern day vixens like Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj had me wanting one so so bad. If I did see them in plus sizes they would either be too costly and if they were affordable they looked like a Halloween costume. That’s until now. Club L via ASOS has given me all the sexy I wanted in a rubber dress at an pocket friendly price.

I love how I felt in my dress. I felt super sexy and confident. I got the bright idea to wear my dress backwards. The zipper gives the front a little more detail. You can see Danielle Brooks of Orange Is The New Black was feeling herself also in this high shine bodycon Club L dress. Danielle is wearing the dress on as intended.

This plus-size dress by Club L is made of high shine smooth fabric. There is added stretch for comfort. It has a scoop neck and sleeveless design. The midi length close-cut bodycon fit dress has an exposed zip-back fastening.

It feels good to have options! There are many looks I wish came in my size so I want to give Club L and ASOS a huge thank for offering this hot look I wanted.

My recent visit to New York for New York Fashion Week has taught me so much about myself. Every time I leave Chicago I take with me all that I’ve learned from being born and raised in the city of big shoulders. This world will chew you up and spit you out if you let it. Are you good enough? Are you pretty enough? Are you thin enough?What are you wearing? Are you on trend? So many thoughts swirling in my head. Self-doubt can creep in so fast.

Your mind can play tricks on you. Having you believing everyone is doing so much better than you. And that you will never be good enough. What’s a girl to do? I personally stop and thank God for keeping me in my right mind. Take a moment and speak to your God or higher power. Connecting with something greater than myself helps me remember the world is much bigger than myself and what I’m going through. I like to reflect on how far I’ve come. Be grateful for the small blessing is a way I make it through each day.

Am I good enough? Yes! Social media is nothing but a big Bow Wow Challenge. That’s why I only compete with myself. I am my only competition. I don’t worry about the next person and what they’re doing. Am I pretty enough? Am I thin enough? Yes! I don’t let the mainstream media tell me what’s beautiful. I love my round face and brown skin. I am gorgeous just the way I am. I do work to improve but not to change. There is a huge difference.

ASOS Kimono in Cherry Blossom Jacquard ....

What are you wearing? Are you on trend? More often than not I’m wearing something from my favorite brand ASOS. The site is updated daily so I’m always on trend. They speak to my personal style. So I don’t worry about what others are wearing because I’m comfortable in my ASOS style choices. As you can see above with some of the kimono options above you have so many choices that you can freely create a look that speaks to your own personal style.

The kimono I picked is from the straight sizes. I’m wearing a size 14. I am plus size yet petite in height so this over sized jacket worked great as a dress on me. I opted not to wear a formal top but a Lane Bryant bra. The jacket did open slightly at the bottom so I added a burgundy faux leather mini skirt in a patent finish (size 3X). I got these Gucci glasses for a steal while doing some retail therapy. The purple in them worked so well with the pink green and white of the kimono. The shoes from Aldo come with velcro straps and are super comfortable and easy to get in and out of. Cute pink lippie and earrings and this look is done and done.

If you’re looking for more style ideas. Wear your kimono as a true jacket and add in a shirt and jeans. However, if you choose to wear it just add touches that make your personal style shine through.

I joined Nike Air Society at Nike Chicago located in the heart of downtown Chicago. Nike Air Society had a plus size fashion talk and the first ever plus size fashion show featuring Nike’s latest plus size fashion looks.

The night was so much fun. We all enjoyed light bites and drinks. While waiting for the fashion show we learned about Nike Air innovation. We also got bra fitting done by Nike experts. It was nice to check out the new Nike Pro Bra collection. As you can see in the pictures below there was a Nike Air Society photo booth. There were even custom Air Society postcards.

Nike Air Society has some bomb “gifts with purchase.” Some people got Air Society tote and towel. You could have access to nail art and the Blowout Junkie braid bar. Some girls got workout appointments at Orange Theory Fitness. I dance the night away as DJ Megan worked the ones and two.

I’m happy that Nike has become even more inclusive. It’s great when you can see girls that look like me in workout gear and looking fabulously while doing it.

Gwynnie Bee | Melissa McCarthy Seven7 Jean |Plus Size Review

First, let me tell you a little about the Gwynnie Bee service before I get into my review of these Melissa McCarthy Seven7 jeans. Gwynnie Bee is an online subscription-based clothing rental service. They provide women’s clothing in sizes 10-32. Members pay a flat monthly subscription fee and are able to rent a large collection of clothing. Now that you know the secret to my ever changing wardrobe on to the review.

This is my first time trying on Melissa McCarthy Seven7 jean brand. I didn’t have a personal guide to go on for the sizing of the jeans. I did use the sizing guide provided by Gwynnie Bee on the website. I was still was a little worried so I requested a size 18W and 20W in the same jeans. The jeans are stretch pencil in the cape code wash with side zip pencil. These medium wash stretch-cotton jeans have a fitted thought leg and a button-closure. The front rise is 12″, Back rise: 17″, Leg opening: 6″, Inseam: 28.5″ (from size 16W). The jeans do not come with front pockets how they come with zipped back pockets.

The jeans make-up are cotton / polyester / spandex. The paneled seams and classic blue wash, this skinny stretch jean are the contemporary edgy look I love. I paired the Melissa McCarthy Seven7 Jeans (18W) with this Rolling Stone tee (2X) and these fab shoes. Now that I’ve fallen in love with these Melissa McCarthy Seven7 Jeans I glad I can purchase them right from Gwynnie Bee.

These jeans are soft and very comfortable. The stretch in the jeans is great. The stretch didn’t give or get loose throughout the day. The cut made me feel very good about myself while wearing them. I’m a fan.

This is a great look for a girls night or date night or even just hugging the block doing your hood girl Cardi B glow up. Oooooooooooooooow!!

My Visit To Eloquii Chicago

Do you know how hard it was for me to keep this secret? I got a call this past summer from the Eloquii team and they told me that they were opening a pop up location in Chicago. I could hardly deal after joking about the coming to Chicago. There’s a different feeling you get when you’re able to try on clothes in-store. I spoke about that in the post ELOQUII KEEPING IT’S BRICK AND MORTAR STORE IS A PLUS SIZE VICTORY. With the fast pace life many of live online shopping it’s the way for us to go. Sometime I need to know this dress will fit because I don’t have another 7 days to wait for another size to come if the dress is still in stock. Chicago is the 3rd largest market so Eloquii opening here is a no brainier but how they are doing it took a lot of thought.

I attended the ELOQUII’S VIP BREAKFAST AND CHICAGO STORE SNEAK PEEK so I was able to see the store before it was open to the public. The store looked like my room when I’m getting ready for a night out. Clothes and shoes were everywhere. So my return when the store was done done was an amazing sight.

You can find the Eloquii Chicago store on the Mag Mile at 520 North Michigan Ave. The store is nestled on the second floor just outside of Nordstrom in the Northbridge. The store is everything a plus girl needs in a lush shopping experience.

Eloquii Chicago speaks to Eloquii’s customer base. It’s like they took their website and created a way for you to walk in and try on the clothes. The whole staff will be your instant bffs. They guided me though the store that was beautifully designed. They have my size mannequiens! I love knowing how the clothes will lay because they’re hang on body shapes like mine. You can book a styling appointment with the staff you’ll be placed lounge with the attached dressing room. Chicago ladies push away from your computers and see the gorgeous store in-person. Bold prints, spacious seating and of course the latest in Eloquii’s clothes. Eloquii is doing a soft launch Thursday August 17th. The store’s grand opening will be September 6th.

I know the new question will be what is “A New Day?” It’s a new clothing line for the millennial woman who is passionate about her style, this is a brand that delivers current fashion and reinvented classics, interpreted for real-life. The brand is focused on quality and fit, making it versatile for any occasion.

A New Day is available only at Target. The entire A New Day collection launched in Target stores and on Target.com on August 27 and will continue to deliver new items monthly. A few items will be available in-store earlier. When the collection becomes available, you can check Target.com to see if a specific item is available in a store near you.

A New Day is joining the Target brand. It will be available long-term at Target and is not a limited-time-only collection. A New Day will be in the women’s apparel, shoe, and accessories sections of Target stores.

A New Day is a Target internal product design. The team developed the collection using trend and guest research to design items that are relevant and exciting.

A New Day will be available in sizes 0–16, XS–XXL and select assortment in plus sizes, ranging from X–4X and 14W–26W in select stores and online. A portion of the collection is available in plus sizing. Plus sizing will be available in select stores and on Target.com. The shoe sizing may vary by style but is more inclusive than ever. The standard size range is 6–11, but certain styles will also be offered in sizes 5–12 along with wide width and wide calf for boots.

Target is introducing more than a dozen brands in the next 18 months. This fall Target is launching several brands in apparel and home. Be on the lookout for of course A New Day in women’s apparel and accessories, Goodfellow & Co in men’s apparel and accessories, JoyLab in women’s fashion performance and Project 62 in home.

Prices for the A New Day collection range from $9.99 to $44.99 for apparel, accessories, and shoes.

It’s Project Runway sweet 16! They made some big changes for this season. This is the season of the real women. In the past Project Runway would make designing for “real women” a challenge, however, this season it’s the norm. And to top it off Project Runway is has partnered with Avon to created all season 16 beauty looks. Avon’s makeup artist, Hector Simancas will be the lead stylist.

Avon sent their runway ready kit including essential Avon products Hector uses throughout the season. So I could recreate looks from the catwalk at home with Avon’s True Color. Avon’s True Color technology, designed to give a natural flawless. True Color means the color you buy is the color you apply.

Season 16 premiered on August 17 and the designers competing this year are:

The winner will receive $100,000 to launch their line, and the opportunity to collaborate with JCPenney on a limited edition capsule collection as part of the “Project Runway” line sold at select JCPenney stores and online at http://www.jcp.com. In addition, the winner will receive a selection of Brother sewing and embroidery machines, a lifetime supply of pens from the Pilot FriXion Erasable Pen and an all-expense paid luxury trip to Japan. The prize package also includes the new 2018 Lexus NX and the winning designer and model will receive a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.

This year Project Runway has teamed up with beauty brand Avon. Avon has a 130-year history of empowering women through economic opportunity, and the company also proudly supports the Avon Foundation for Women in its efforts to end breast cancer and domestic violence. Avon puts mascara on lashes and food on tables. Avon over a century has stood for beauty, innovation, optimism and, above all, for women. Avon’s makeup artist, Hector Simancas is the lead stylist creating the amazing looks for season 16. Simancas love for beauty began while studying Design and Photography. Working as a photographer in Venezuela pushed him to look for greater opportunity and he decided to move to New York. Simancas started as an assistant makeup artist for a good friend, which showcased his talent and sparked his passion to do makeup. Hector has traveled and worked in numerous countries maintaining New York City as his home for over ten years. His work regularly appears in the pages of Marie Clarie, Vanity Fair, and Interview, as well as international editions of Vogue, Elle, W, Marie Claire and Glamour. He has worked with many celebrities including Sienna Miller, Maggie Q, Sandra Oh, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Stephanie Seymour, Amber Valletta, Shirley MacLaine, Morgan Fairchild, Paz de la Huerta and Lauryn Hill.
