5 Random Facts About theFatGirlofFashion

strapless-black-dress-rue-107-3

I started blogger because I wanted the world to know that Chicago had women that were plus size and fashionable. Overwhelming engagement thefatgirloffashion¬†expanded to include lifestyle. ¬† We discuss things like travel, food, and reviews. We all know my motto is ‚ÄúI‚Äôm happy with me.‚ÄĚ If you’re happy with yourself than you will be more likely to live life on your own terms. ¬†That’s why randomness is important. ¬†With that being said here are 5 random facts about me.

Random fact number one is I’m going to Paris. ¬†Paris, France is the plan for my 40th birthday. ¬†I’m counting down the seconds! ¬†I’m on the fence about how long to stay and what to do when I arrive. ¬†Of course I’ll do all the regular tourist things but I want¬†to see street culture off the beaten path. We’ll see.

m-a-c-cosmetics-x-taraji-p-henson-mactaraji-reviewed
Random fact two¬†is I’ve grown into a real makeup junkie. ¬†It use to take me about 3o mins to do my eyebrows. ¬†I know along time but they were fleek. ¬†Over time now I can do just as good of a job within a quarter of the time. ¬†I use 3 products. ¬†First brushing the hairs with an e.l.f. wand. ¬†Then shaping with a¬†Wet N Wild¬†pencil and LA Girl concealer in color fawn & toast applied with an¬†e.l.f. 1814 brush.

Random fact number 3 is that my favorite movie of all time is The Color Purple. ¬†Followed up closely by Dream Girls. ¬†When I first moved out on my own I didn’t have cable. ¬†Only a VCR player. ¬†Yes VCR, lol. ¬†I would watch The Color Purple over and over. ¬†The storyline was powerful and the acting was amazing. ¬†My favorite line from the movie is captured in Miss Celie Voice.

‚ÄúI‚Äôm poor, black, I might even be ugly, but dear God, I‚Äôm here. I‚Äôm here.‚ÄĚ

Random fact 4.   I loooooove social media.  I adore being connected to people world wide.  Seeing things from the point of view others is how one grows.
We can connect everywhere.

Twitter: @FatGirl_Fashion
The last random fact is that if I could move today I would move to Los Angeles
NO MORE SNOW, lol. ¬†I love Chicago. ¬†If I could move Chicago to a warmer climate I would do it in a heartbeat. ¬†New York would be idea for a blogger but the weather there is no better than Chicago. ¬†Like I said before I love Chicago so they’re stuck with me.

Sounds about right!! ¬†Just kidding , lol. ¬†I was however ¬†a little stuck on what to wear. ¬†Should I be a super fan wearing Bulls gear from head to toe. ¬†Or be extra with a floor length mink with¬†Jimmy Choo shoes like a diva. ¬†Chicago Bulls games have become a real fashion event. ¬†And now that the Bulls have added¬†Dwyane Wade to the team I could find myself seating shoulder to shoulder with his wife and Birth of Nation star Gabrielle Union. ¬†If I’m having this issue how many other fashionable sports fan were? ¬†I came up with a few looks that’ll cover all style mavens for any sporting event.

Self Care | Winter Blues

winter-blues-1

Fall has just arrived¬†and I can already feeling the start of the winter blues. ¬†The sun is disappearing sooner making way for dark evenings. ¬†This season I’m being proactive with some of the things I’ll be doing to help my mood. ¬†Here are a¬†few¬†things I’m doing to get started.

self-care-4

Start doing daily affirmation journal.

Tell yourself great things about yourself. ¬†Write down the great things people say about you to read later. ¬†We easily tell others what we love about them but it’s harder to do the same for ourself. ¬†So writing down what others find great about you will make it easier.

Shadow Flora Mini Notebook & Pen | Inspirations & Ideas Notebook |  Wild & Free Paperback Journal

self-care

Hit the delete button on your social media feeds.

We all have that one friend that is a Debbie downer. ¬†Delete them! ¬†You don’t have to see day after day these people and their sad Instagram¬†post. ¬†You are not required see their drama filled Facebook statuses. ¬†Don’t read their woo is me tweets. ¬†At the least mute them.

self-care-3

Give your body attention.

Wear things that feels great next to your skin.  Get a sexy grown to wear at night.  Moisture.  Dry skin gets itchy and will make you feel bad.  Self sooth.  Stroke yourself.  Look lovingly at yourself.  No one can make your body feel as good as you can.

LACE BABYDOLL  | Day-to-Night Healthy Skin Set |  Venus Butterfly

self-care-13

Fix things that annoy you.

Fix that¬†broken zipper, that¬†wobbly table, change that light bulb that’s out. ¬†Fixing these small things will give you a sense of accomplishment. ¬†Change always starts off small.

self-care-1

Be selfish.

Get¬†something that makes you happy. ¬†It’s¬†Monday stop and¬†get a new dress. ¬†On Wednesday get a clutch. ¬†New shoes on Sunday, Why not! ¬†Don’t go broke now, lol. ¬†That’ll cause other problems.

CEGINUS DRESS | Faux Suede Fringe Booties  |  Mesh Envelope Clutch

self-care-2

Get social.

Goof around for a bit.¬†¬†Get out of your comfort zone, even if it‚Äôs just talking to a stranger at the bus stop. ¬†Dance to your favorite song. ¬†Shake your booty. ¬†Have a good laugh even if it’s at yourself.

Halloween is my favorite holiday and this Anchors Away Costume has put me in the trick or treat mood.  Plus size looks go super fast and this is a perfect outfit to meet that sailor boy. The red ribbon add to the super nautical look with the white stripes and white sailor hat.  target.com

You can follow this blog on Bloglovin here.  Also lately I’ve be doing most of my posting on snapchat@fatgirl_fashion. My snapchat friends were the first to know about the location I selected for my blog’s 3rd year anniversary brunch that happened on June 12th. They saw first hand my Beyonce’s Formation tour experience, and my NYC trip for theCurvycon.  I was in L.A. in August for BlogHer & some fun in the sun.  Then off to ATL for TCFStyleExpo.  Followed up by trip to Florida for the Black Enterprise Golf Tennis Challenge.  Be sure to follow me on snapchat so you don’t miss any of the action.  thefatgirloffashion.com can be found on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter also.
