Blossom is 90’s sitcom that made a huge influence on me.  Blossom was very imaginative and had an opinion about almost everything.  Just like me.  Blossom wasn’t your average girl, either, and that’s what made her special. She was quirky, had cool fashion sense and was very relatable.

My parent separated around the same time the show came out.  The show made divorce normal.  I saw a girl like me dealing with the same issue I was going though.  A lot of her feeling were my feelings.

A lot of my favorite childhood TVs show come though in my current clothing chooses.  What’s your favorite 90’s TV show.  Which one is your biggest fashion influence?

Risky Business

Risky Business is an 80’s coming of age romantic comedy about a Chicago teenager is looking for fun at home while his parents are away, but the situation quickly gets out of hand.  When I tried in this shirt dress I had a major urge to slide across my living room floor.

As a plus size body positive blogger, I’m a cheerleader for women wearing what they want.  I do myself at times question how does an outfit look on me.  How will this outfit on me appear to others?  The shirt dress was one of those times.  Will people think I’m nude?  Will people think where are her pants?  I had to take a step back and become my own cheerleader.

Being your own cheerleader will give you confidence.  The confidence to step out with your head held high knowing that you’re beautiful just the way you are. What risky fashion have you been scared to wear?

“Monday’s Child” is one of many popular as nursery rhymes for children. It is supposed to tell a child’s character or future based on the day of birth and to help young children remember the seven days of the week. As with all nursery rhymes, there are many versions.  Below is one of the common modern versions.

Monday’s child is fair of face,

Tuesday’s child is full of grace,

Wednesday’s child is full of woe,

What if Wednesday’s child wasn’t  full of woe.  What is Wednesday’s child was just a little mixed up like my dress?  I have my dress on backwards.  Shhhhhhhh don’t tell anyone, lol.  This Rachel Roy MIXED MEDIA SWEATER DRESS has such beautiful button details I just had to put them on display.  I knew from the first time I tried this cutie on I was going to wear the button in the front.  That’s one of the great things about fashion,  You can play around with it.  Sometimes you’ll have hits and sometime you’ll have misses.  Taking the chance on wearing the buttons in the front for me was a real hit!  The ever flattering fit and flare silhouette works very well with the ruffle above the knee hemline.  That same ruffle detailing and mesh details at the shoulders is nothing less than the basic black dress upgrade.  Rachel Roy’s MIXED MEDIA SWEATER DRESS V neckline works great for the office in heels or on the weekend paired with oxfords.

Clothing should be fun and show your personality.  This dress can be done up so many ways.  I can see a curvy girl rocking a look with pearls with Breakfast At Tiffany’s as inspiration.   I was really feeling, black dress icon, Wednesday Friday Addams vibes.   I decided to do very nude makeup application as a homage to the pale one.  If you were wondering no I’m not a Wednesday’s child.  I’m a Saturday’s child that works hard for a living!  What’s child are you?  Do you like how I played with this gorgeous dress by wearing it backwards with the buttons in the front?  Would you wear it this way?  How do you play around with fashion?

Victoria Beckham for Target #VBxTarget Collection To Include Plus Size In-Store

The must have collaboration of 2017 is the #VBxTarget Collection.  Victoria Beckham is partnering up with Target to bring her high-end luxury style to an affordable shopping cart near you.  The former Spice Girl will be creating a 200+ piece collection inspired by her Victoria, Victoria Beckham line.  The collection will include easy-to-wear dresses, rompers and playful tops, and bottoms for women, and corresponding styles for girls, toddler and baby.  It includes soft pastels, bright colors, spring prints and clean lines she’s known for, with sizing up to 3X with prices ranging from $6 to $70 with most things coming in under $40.  Speaking exclusively to BoF, said Beckham, “I’ve made no secret of the fact that I wanted to put a collection out there for people who either can’t afford designer prices or don’t want to pay designer prices.”

Beckham added she loves the idea of opening the brand up to a wider audience and being able to share my vision with a broader customer base.  The collaboration will not include shoes or handbags however several pieces will be reimagined for kids in sizes NB (new born)-XL; accessories will include scarves for women and other items for children.  This is Beckham first clothing collaboration however she’s collaborated with makeup line EstĂ©e Lauder and also has a capsule with Nails, Inc.

“The reality is that retailers need to sign up partners and collaborators in order to bring foot traffic as well as to create a positive halo effect,” Marc Beckman, chief executive of DMA United said. “They’re not doing these collaborations to generate meaningful revenue or growth — at all. It’s to bring customers into the door.”  With that being said for the first time plus-size product from a designer collaboration will be available in-store (while not all Target locations will carry the collection in plus sizes, each item will be available in the full size range on Target.com). Typically, plus sizes are only available online.  Let’s just hope the stores have more than one item and the Target site doesn’t crash like it has in the past.  The collection will be available April 9 through April 30, 2017, or while supplies last, at all Target stores and Target.com, with select pieces available for global shoppers via Victoria Beckham site victoriabeckham.com.

In honor of Women history month I wanted to shine a light on fashion designer and girl genius Rachel Roy and her wish to HELP THE CHILDREN OF SYRIA!  Rachel has set a goal to raise $20,000 for World of Children in or to help in assisting the over 2.7 million children across Syria.  Many of whom schools have been destroyed by continuous missile attacks in addition to having as few as 31 doctors left to care for a quarter of a million people left in the region.

International Women’s Day #BeBoldforChange Wear Red for #IWD2017

It’s International Women’s Day and this year’s theme is #BeBoldforChange.  We know women can be bold advocates for ourselves and so for #IWD2017 looks like it’ll be the bold change this world needs.  

International Women’s Day has many  call to actions.  One action that’s getting the most attention is A Day Without Women.  A Day Without Women is asking women to cccc, jhavdc and bdhjfbs.

Participants are also being asked to refrain from shopping on the day.   A Day without women would really impact the economy.  Participants are also being asked to refrain from shopping on the day.

As a women if you can miss work you’re being ask to wear red as a sign of solidarity with the movement.   Red is the color of revolutionary love.

I Couldn’t take the day off for #ADAYWITHWOMEN, However, I do stand with my sisters of the cause in each and every corner of the world.
