How do you miss something you never knew you had?

In this blog post, I’m sharing how to style the Ashley Stewart X Kendall + Kylie cheetah dress. Keep reading to see how I created 3 effortless looks with one dress.
“Ashley Stewart is going to win on kindness and math. Our strength is fellowship and self-esteem.” _James Rhee, CEO of Ashley Stewart
.
Can you really wear one dress three ways and make them all Instagramable? Yes, you can! We should be wearing our clothes in many ways. When we make a purchase we should look at every garment as a staple piece with staying power. Something we can rock anywhere. Our looks should take us from work to the party that can’t be missed.
Who doesn’t want to get more mileage out of their favorite dress? Being open to creative ways to style them from pencil time to prosecco time is the will make sure we get the most bang for our buck!
If you think it can’t be done while here’s proof.

Let’s keep it real. Dressing for work can be the least fashionable thing many of us do daily. So when approached with an option to ditch that basic black dress for a fresh and feminine look who would say no?
Using the Ashley Stewart X Kendall + Kylie cheetah dress as my foundation piece I added some simple accessories to make the look werk for work, lol. This professional yet edgy look works best for the holiday season because of the metallic gold-tone cheetah pattern throughout. You can create this work ready look with an open front cardigan, a simple belt , dark tights along with matching loafers to insure a comfortable look for a long day in the office

With the arrival of the holiday season, we’ll likely have 703 invites to attend everyone’s must-attend get-together. The Ashley Stewart X Kendall + Kylie cheetah dress is a great way to steal all the attention when you enter the room.
I know when I hit the scene I want a look that Samantha Jones would approve of. As a petite girl, I can attest that the dress’s short girl-friendly. With an elasticized waistband the dress is a stellar choice for someone looking to play it safe or push the edge with the dress length. I spiced up the look with skin-tone pantyhose, some bomb gloves, a super cute clutch, and open-toe mules. Adding a red lippie guarantees to get you a double-take.

Is it even the weekend without brunch with the girls? Hmmmmm nope! For starters, you know you can’t show up to the all-girl meet up looking regular. I’m not saying it a competition but there’s only one BeyoncĂ© in every group and that’s you, lol. The Ashley Stewart X Kendall + Kylie cheetah dress is perfect for sipping on bottomless mimosas with it’s tiered ruffled hem and easy-breezy silhouette.
Take your brunch looks to the next level with a fabulous fedora, faux leather moto jacket, high-waist leggings, and booties. Add some sunglasses, a tote bag, and a hey girl hey!
I received the Ashley Stewart X Kendall + Kylie cheetah dress compliments of ashleystewart, however; All opinions are my own.
It’s one thing to have good style, but it’s another to have the kind that makes other women look at you in admiration and go, “I just love your outfit!” Not saying we go out looking for compliments, however, who doesn’t want them. A simple style trick or two and an open mind will transform any look. As you can see it doesn’t take much to take one dress from desk to drinks in no time!

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing what I experienced at the State Farm & Essence #WOMENLETSWIN Event Chicago.  The multi-city series featured Eva Marcille of Real House Wives of Atlanta fame at the Chicago stop. Â
Are you looking for the information on the State Farm & Essence #WOMENLETSWIN Event Chicago?  Who was there? How did the vision board party go? What did Eva Marcille share about her thoughts on financial wealth?  You’ve come to the right place just keep reading.
This event series features candid conversations with Eva Marcille, Angela Yee and Tina Knowles Lawson on their personal and professional journeys and how they brought their vision to life.
The event I attended featured Eva Marcille, Chicagoland State Farm owner Tenyiah Simmons Patterson and was moderated by Essence’s Senior digital Life Style editor, Charli Penn.
Also shared was how they navigated life in order to secure financial success. Each also spoke about how important it was to save and have good credit. I liked that they believed that respect for money is something that’s learned and necessary to be a successful entrepreneur.
.
I found the event to be very informative and fun. A vision board party is a great way to map and manifest your aspirations.
Traditional people do vision board parties at the beginning of the year; however, at this time for me it was much needed. Doing the vision board helped me refocus on my goals. Being a visual person the images helped in realigning my thoughts on what I’m working so hard for.  Â
.

I was left with so many much needed nuggets. It was honestly hard to narrow it down to just three.
One of the gems was to make sure to take time for yourself. Tenyiah shared that for the last five years she takes off Fridays and gets a massage. She’s an owner of two State Farm locations so it’s easy for her to pick and choose her schedule. Â She did say even as a for hire working pick a day of the week and make that day all about you.
The second gift Tenyiah offered was to women working 9 to 5. Â She had encouraging words and said be sure to make your wins known. Â She said celebrate your wins as you climb the corporate ladder to success. Â If you don’t let people know what you’ve done then how are they going to know what you can do.
The last piece of advice I’d like to share came from Eva Marcille. Â She talked about how everyone proudly says, “I’m booked and busy.” Â She then went on to say real financial freedom happens when the money is made passively. Â She shared, the businesses she’s launching for streams of income are ones that don’t require her to be super hands on. Â I took that as automated money is the way to go and I’m all for that!

.
Essence is having event similar to this one on October 17th called Path To Power. This event includes Essence editor Charreah Jackson, Taria Buchanan a Northwestern Mutual advisor along with curlBox founder Myleik Teele. You can RSVP here.

Within this blog post, I’ll be sharing my experience at the TCF Style Expo. You’ll see what happened from fashions, panels, networking and of course the parties!

Are you looking for the tea on the plus size event The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo? Looking for plus size fashions from TCF Style Expo? Are you looking for information on the plus size focused panels? Here you’ll find! If you want to know why I attend keep reading!!
The category is plus size fashion, lol! (A Pose reference) The TCF Style Expo definitely had the fashions on display.
Here are my 5 favorite looks from the TCF Style Expo. Everyone looked amazing but these happen to be my favorite. However, for me, these people came with their A game!

Marie Dee, The Curvy Fashionista, herself wearing Barkwood.

Shamika of froplusfashion wearing Eloquii.

Chasi of Sweat N Mascara wearing Christian Omeshun.

Tiffany of Beautiffully me wearing Curvi Milieux.

Ivory of Ivory Jinelle wearing Ofuure (top), Rainbow (shorts) and Zara (shoes).
Clearly, they came to slay!

The fashions were not the reason I attend the Style Expo.  The panels are very important. There were 3 panels that stood out to me.

I really enjoyed the “Plus Size Fitness” panel. They talked about plus size fitness and weight loss. The ladies shared their thoughts on if plus size fitness fit in the plus industry. They tackled a very heavy hitting topic in the plus size community.

The cosplay panel was so much fun! They started their thoughts on attending cosplay events as plus size women. The group spoke on how to dip your toes into cosplay with closet friendly looks. They also spoke about how the plus size cosplay community is growing and growing fast.

The panel on how to get involved in the curvy community. This panel’s discussion got a little heated and I loved it! The group spoke on breaking into the plus industry. They also shared how you can help others working in and with the plus community.
It was great seeing bloggers I know and respect sitting on panels at the TCF Style Expo.
I attended the TCF Style Expo as a guest of thecurvyfashionista and blogger coordinator Pepper of Pretty Plus Pep, however; All opinions are my own. Â

In this blog post, I’ll be sharing my experience at Lincoln Park Zoo Chicago adults-only event “A night at the zoo.”  The event offers a kid-free view of the zoo’s amazing animals & gardens.
“Zoo animals are ambassadors for their cousins in the wild.” _Jack Hanna
.
.
Lincoln Park Zoo’s Night At The Zoo offers more than just views of the zoo’s animals & gardens. There were food vendors and yes there was also adult beverages vendors servicing beer and wine for purchase.  Night At The Zoo had a boom DJ, games for my friends and I to play.

.

Ride the carousel: You can find near the AT&T Endangered Species section the carousel.  I felt like a big kid going around on the carousel with the wind blowing through my hair.  Best of the carousel ride is FREE!Â
Listen to the Live DJs: The DJs on handle offered basically any type of music you would like.  There was a DJ playing top 40, 90s, oldies, hip-hop and electronic.Â
Sip while touring the Zoo: Â Most of Lincoln Park Zoo’s animal exhibits were open while my friends and I sipped on adult beverages.

.

Rules: All guests must be 21+ with a valid government issued ID.
It is recommended to print a paper ticket to prevent any technology complications which would prevent your ticket from displaying on your phone.
No outside food or beverage may be brought into the event.
This event will go on Rain or Shine. Â Of all the nights, It rained on the night I went.Â
.
I found the event fun.  I did however personally thought the event was a little pricey not to include a drink and or a food ticket.  Food and drinks can be purchased separately.  Events like Grits & Biscuits and The Makossa Cookout are a little less costly.  The group that puts the event on says a large portion of the proceeds benefit Lincoln Park Zoo and helps the zoo stay free and open 365 days a year.  So for that reason, I’m going to give them a pass on the cost of the event ticket.  I believe the pricing is tiered.  The closer to the event that you purchase your ticket the more it cost.  Honestly, my friends and I purchased our tickets the week of. I was also happy there wasn’t the large crowd you would get on a regular day at the zoo.  No kids!  This may be one time was I happy to adult with other adults!  I had a good time.  This was something I had been wanting to do for a while and I glad I did.  You can learn more about Lincoln Park Zoo and all of it’s events here.  Â
