Block 37 AMC Movie Theater Food Review | CHICAGO LOOP
I went to the new AMC theater located at Block 37. I wrote about the general experience in Block 37 AMC Movie Theater | CHICAGO LOOP. However, I wanted to speak separately about the theaters food.
The Block 37 AMC theater is marketing itself as a dine-in experience. AMC is offering more then just dinner and a movie. The Block 37 location is offering luxury. For me that luxury centers arounds the meal options. The new AMC dine-in theater at Block 37 does not disappoint.
I sampled varies items of the food menu and was very pleased. The food menu has section called snacks and shares those items cost $8. Off that menu I tasted the boneless wings. The boneless wings are hand battered all white meat chicken. It comes with two dipping sauces. The ranch sauce was very tasty with great favor. I also had the crab & avocado sushi roll. Each sushi roll is hand rolled to order. They include a crab and surimi mix, cucumber, avocado, Japanese & Sriracha mayo. It’s plated with wasabi, picked ginger and soy sauce.
They dinning experience menu includes 8 specialty burgers. Three being chicken option and one veggie. The burgers are at a price point of $12 with a $2 upgrade if you like the bison over the standard ground chuck and brisket blend. I had the Rancho burger with bacon added and it tasted like a heaven on a toasted brioche bun. The Rancho burger doesn’t come with bacon but the Royal burger does. However, the Rancho burger included everything I love on a burger. It comes with roasted poblano peppers, jalapeño peppers, caramelized onions, chipotle ketchup, lettuce, tomato, royal sauce and all being topped with pepper jack cheese. Hmmmm I can still taste the goodness.
There’s also salads bowls and baskets options ranging from $8 to $16. I didn’t try those items because I opted for the gumbo mac off the mac menu. This is hands down the best macaroni I have ever had. The gumbo mac comes with roasted shrimp, smoked andouille sausage, aged jack cheese sauce, sweet bell peppers and creole spice. As I’m writing this I’m wishing I had another bowl.
If you have a sweet tooth the AMC offers cinnamon-sugar doughnuts with salted cameral dipping sauce. There’s also hand spun made to order milkshakes in 6 flavor choices. There’s a kids menu and standard movie treats.
Now if you find yourself thirsty. They have the Coca-Cola freestyle machine that offers a 100 plus non alcoholic drink options. Also fruit smoothies, water, iced tea, milk, hot chocolate, cappuccino, latte and espresso shot. If you want something a little stronger this location comes with AMC brand bar MacGuffins. MacGuffins is a full service bar that mixes up specialty drinks like hurricane to long island iced teas. They will shake up 5 different flavors of hard lemonades. MacGuffins pours up martinis and margaritas including the frozen kind. They offer a wide range of draft and bottle beer. From domestic, craft, imported and specialty. If you’re a wine sipper MacGuffins has 13 white and red wines to pick from. MacGuffins is in the theater’s lobby area so you’re free to dine and have a drink even if your not taking in a movie.
I’m happy with my overall experience of the AMC theater at Block 37 and the amazing food played a starring role in that! So go enjoy a movie, a meal and drink in the heart of downtown Chicago.
