McDonald’s Chicago Office With BMOA | What’s BMOA?

The Black McDonald’s Operators Association of Chicago and Northwest Indiana is committed to help the area’s African American communities by providing educational resources, promoting tolerance and acceptance, and empowering the people they serve. These meaningful efforts engage Chicagoland’s neighborhoods and embody the true spirit of family and community.

There is currently over 60 BMOA located in Chicago and Northwest Indiana.  They spoke about how BMOA touches the communities they service.  I was especially touched when I learned about the annual turkey drive called Food for the Body & Spirit” Thanksgiving program.  Of course BMOA are apart of the Bud Billiken Day Parade and I’ve personally seen BMOA support CPS students.

Find out more about BMOA here.

McDonald’s Chicago Office With BMOA | Building Tour

Moving to a new location can be hard but McDonald’s made it look so easy.  Originally in Oak brook the corporate office moved to the old Oprah Harpo studios site.

The exterior of the building has a warehouse look to keep inline with the neighborhood.  However the the interior is very modern.  There is a lot to see while you’re there.  You  can easily learn a ton of McDonald’s history.

I currently have the full tour in my Instastories.  You can see it here.  While you’re there be sure to like a few on my photo, lol.

McDonald’s Chicago Office With BMOA | In The Future

I learned some behind the veil info about McDonald’s.  THEY ARE WORKING ON A NEW BREAKFAST SANDWICH AND IT’S BOMB!!!!  Tell everybody you know I said it’s a banger.  Sadly, the french toast breakfast sandwich is only be served in Minnesota for testing.  It’s so good I can’t see why it’s wouldn’t be hitting the Chicagoland area soon.  Thank me later, lol

McDonald’s is also working on improving their computer network as a way to improve the customer experience.  I learned that changes at McDonald’s don’t happen over night.  For example the idea on the self service kiosk was an almost 15 year roll out.

Management told us what happen to the beloved orange soda and I had to say was ok sis, lol.  Overall I had a good time and thankful that the BMOA tapped me for their first influencer visit.  In case your wondering McDonald’s employee don’t get free food, yipes!

I attended this event as a guest of BMOA in honor on national breakfast month, however; All opinions are my own.  Dress gifted by Eloquii while in NYC for theCurvycon.

McDonalds’ #McDelivery Day With Uber Eats

Within this blog post, I’ll be sharing my experience with using Uber Eats on McDonald’s McDelivery day.  On July 19th, McDonald’s McDelivery, 90’s style swags was the word.

What is McDelivery Day?

McDelivery Day is McDonald’s way of celebrating the fun and food McDelivery brings to the table.  McDelivery is how McDonald’s get their menu into your handles.  The McDonald’s menu can be delivered using the standalone app UberEats (get $5 off your first order on #Uber Eats with my code: eats-latoyaw21).  On McDelivery McDonald’s offers fun swag.  This year the theme was 90’s nostalgia.  With a minimum order of $5 could snag you a McClassic Tee, Big Mac PopSocket, Fries or Big Mac socks and menu items throwback pins.

.

McDelivery Is Super Easy

Using McDelivery was very simple!  All you need is the UberEats (get $5 off your first order on #Uber Eats with my code: eats-latoyaw21) app.  Enter in your delivery address and then place your order.  Anything on the McDonald’s menu can be delivered.  You can even put in special request.  If you like extra pickles then have at it!  With McDonald’s having over 37,000 locations in 120 markets around the world orders came fast so your food is sure to be hot.

Black McDonald’s Operators Association Treat 300 CPS Students To Black Panther

Black McDonald’s Operators Association and Creative Cypher host a day at the movie for 300 plus Chicago Public School students in celebration of Black History Month.  The Studio Movie Grill – 210 W. 87th St., Chicago, IL 60620 played host to the two simultaneous private screening of the much anticipated Black Panther film.   This was also done to promote diversity in the film industry and beyond.

The hand-selected youth-focused non-profit organizations to gather students for the screening include Donda’s House, Common Ground Foundation, Free Lunch Academy, Free Spirit Media, True Star Foundation, Chicago Scholars and more.

Select Chicago’s tastemakers took part in a unique experience Q&A on careers in entertainment. I must say it was a fabulous time!!

After the film, CPS students had the opportunity to learn about careers in film and related industries from a panel of African American professionals.  The moderators were Troy Pryor, Founder, Creative Cypher and Board Member, SAG-AFTRA Chicago President Charles Gardner.  Panelists include:

  • Chris Walker (Pictured) – Comic Illustrator and former Colorist for Marvel Comics
  • Mark Willis (Pictured) – Professional Stunt Performer currently featured in “Black Panther”
  • Tai Davis (Pictured) – Chicago-born Actress currently featured in “The Chi”
  • Jonathan Kirkland – Vocalist and Actor currently featured in “Hamilton”
  • Natasha Parker  – Location Manager/ Scout – Directors Guild of America
  • David Leonard  – Location Manager/  Scout
  • Craig Harris (Pictured)  – Emmy Award-Winning Producer and Writer

The most powerful message I got from this panel is the power of you!  The panels spoke about amplified creative control.  Know that your voice matters.  The panelists said that everyone is creative. “Even how you talk to your friends already is an experience in creativity.”  Panelist Mark mentioned how happy he was that the Black Panther movie showed people of color in a positive light.  “An all-black cast in a movie without any drug dealers or drug addicts.”  I agree with him this movie was needed especially in times like this.

BMOA couldn’t have picked a better film than Black Panther.  Black Panther is the story of T’Challa.  After the death of his father, T’Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.  Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.

Derrick Taylor, President, Black McDonald’s Operators Association offered thanks to everyone who came together and arranged the event.  I personally want to thank Black McDonald’s Operators Association and Creative Cypher for offering CPS students and their family the opportunity to see a powerful movie that shows people that look like many of them in leadership roles.
