New and Noteworthy Plus-Size Fashion

New and noteworthy plus-size fashion is a series that will be posted weekly, offering new styles and trends.  Plus-size fashion seems to still be playing catch-up with mainstream style.  Oftentimes, when we hear about the latest greatest, they have sold out in larger sizes.  So I hope to lead the conversation on plus-size fashion on everything from luxury runways to independent designers and TikTok-inspired streetwear.  I will also talk about how the industry is not embracing plus-size fashion.  Despite consumers demanding more inclusive sizing, better tailoring, sustainable fabrics, and trend-forward collections, some brands are choosing not to pay attention. Lastly, if I hear about something that’s a great buy and a must-have, I’ll drop it here too!

Luxury For Curvy Bodies

Men lie, women lie, but numbers don’t.  According to recent industry reports, more than 68% of American women wear a size 14 or above, yet representation remains limited.  Even with limited momentum, inclusive fashion continues to grow as designers, influencers, and shoppers push the market toward meaningful change.  This is where Eloquii enters the chat.  The brand recently reintroduced 11 Honoré.  And now, brought us a collaboration with PatBo.

One of the biggest shifts in plus-size fashion is the move toward precision tailoring. Instead of oversized silhouettes designed to “hide” curves, brands are now creating luxurious garments engineered specifically for fuller bodies. The newest and most noteworthy plus-size fashion redefining style is the Eloquii X PatBo collection.  This is a breath of fresh air for the plus community.  Below you’ll find my top 5 pieces from the collection.

Bold Colors Are Replacing Safe Neutrals

Quite luxury is not currently in season.  For the past few years, we’ve been told to wear black because loud was out.  This outdated rule has officially disappeared.  If you’re a fan of color, then you’ll love the options the Audemars Piguet x Swatch collaboration is offering.

Blues, yellows, oranges, prefect pink, mint greens, and dominating black.  The designer watches are encouraging maximalist in my to dance with joy.  I believe there’ll be 10 different colorways.  The disruptive collaboration that fuses joyful boldness and positive provocation with the art of haute horlogerie. Two Swiss icons come together to reimagine a completely new way to wear time and bring future generations to the world of mechanical watches. The Audemars Piguet x Swatch collaboration will be in-store only.  You can check here to see where you can get one locally.

The official launch is set for Saturday, May 16, 2026. In-store decoration is already set up at Swatch boutiques, and sealed watch boxes are expected to be opened in the coming days. The price point appears to be between $300 to $500; however, no official announcement on price has been given yet.

Sheer Fabrics and Body Confidence

Transparency is becoming a major statement in inclusive fashion. Mesh tops, sheer overlays, lace panels, and translucent layering pieces are appearing across both luxury and fast-fashion collections.  If those speak to you, then you’ll love AFRM. This trend signals a larger cultural movement toward body confidence and self-expression. Instead of dressing to hide curves, many consumers are embracing styling that highlights shape and individuality.

Designers are pairing sheer pieces with:

  • Bralettes
  • Bodysuits
  • High-waisted briefs
  • Structured corsetry
  • Layered knitwear

The result is fashion that feels modern, daring, and intentionally expressive.

Recent fashion commentary surrounding body diversity at major exhibitions and fashion events also reflects this evolving conversation around visibility and representation.  AFRM clothing is available on the brand’s website as well as major retailers, including Revolve, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and Dillard’s, along with limited plus sizes at Shopbop and Urban Outfitters.  The brand can also be rented for those who like to try before they buy at RentTheRunway.
