Dick Wolf’s One Chicago
While clicking my way though Twitter I see #OneChicago tending.  That’s the power of Chicago.  The T.V. brand and the city.  As a died hard Chicago Blogger I love all things Chicago.  My heart finds itself overjoyed with my Chicago Cubs at the final dance.  It’s been many years in the making.  I whispered in the ear of one of the Chicago writers and asked.  “Will you be writing in a Cubs win in the story line?”  She replied “No.  That would be out of date by the time we would shoot it.” I looked her right in the eye and said ” Chicago fans wouldn’t care!”  We both laughed and our celebration of Dick Wolf and Chicago began.
Dick Wolf is best known as the creator and executive producer of the Law & Order franchise set his sights on the windy city back in 2012.  He did so with the first insulation of his now 4 part Chicago franchise.  Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, and now Chicago Justice coming in December.  While cutting the Chicago Fire’s 100 episodes cake Mr. Wolf spoke about the how he wanted the Chicago franchisees to have the life that Law & Order has.  He talked about how family passed on the careers with the Law & Order down the family line and wished the same to happen with the Chicagos.
I was able to steal a moment with S. Epatha Merkerson.  I’ll be honest it was very hard not to fan out.  We spoke about the importance of the arts.  I told her how I thought of her was a great role model for girls especially girls of color.  Not as an actress (She’s an amazing actress) but more so the characters she plays.  She’s shown girls that can her the head of a police station or head of a hospital.  She said her goal as an actress was not to be a role model but she glad her career has allowed her to be one.
Thank you NBC and Univision for inviting the blog to cover #OneChicago.
